Drs. DaJuane and Tamara Anderson are the visionary founders and executive directors of Anderson Academy of Mathematics and Science (AAMS) — the only Black-founded private school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they bring more than two decades of experience in education, leadership, and academic innovation.

Both Dr. DaJuane and Dr. Tamara Anderson have served students and school communities across the nation, including in Detroit, Michigan; Las Vegas, Nevada; Charlotte, North Carolina; Miami, Florida; and Los Angeles, California. Their teaching careers began in Detroit, Michigan, where their shared passion for educational excellence, equity, and community empowerment took root.

 

Dr. DaJuane Anderson

Dr. DaJuane Anderson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Grambling State University. He later earned both his Master’s degree and Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Anderson is recognized for his expertise in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and developing rigorous academic programs that inspire students to think critically and achieve at the highest levels. His leadership ensures that AAMS maintains a strong foundation of academic excellence and accountability.

Dr. Tamara Anderson

Dr. Tamara Anderson earned her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities–Pre-Law from Michigan State University, followed by a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University.
She is known for her dedication to whole-child education, emphasizing intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility. Her compassionate and visionary leadership continues to shape AAMS into a nurturing, high-performing learning environment.

Since relocating to Las Vegas in 2001, the Andersons have made a lasting impact on education by helping students reach exceptional levels of academic success across the country. Under their leadership, Anderson Academy of Mathematics and Science has achieved a 100% proficiency rate in all core academic subjects, setting a new benchmark for private education in Nevada.
